This is the homepage of John Hilton

Born in 1946 I spent many years in TV Broadcasting. Initially at the BBC TV Centre, then at Euston for Thames Television and then on the South Bank for London News Network and ITV Broadcasting. During the time with LNN I was involved in the establishment and operations of the main ITV broadcast operation from London to the UK. That involved the introduction of highly automated equipment to enable the efficient running of multiple channels and services. Half the ITV regional services now originate from the South Bank including the core ITV1, ITV2, ITV3 and ITV4 services. I retired from ITV Broadcasting in 2005 to concentrate on my own business interests, though I still do consultancy and project work within the industry.

When I was at college a friend and I started running a discos at private parties in the Home Counties. Disco's were a very new ideas in the 60's and 70's and so most of the equipment was designed and built by ourselves as little suitable equipment was available commercially. The name Discotronics was started during this time and although dormant for many years was retained  for my current business, selling computer equipment to system builders initially but now to a wider public through our website. http:\\www.discotronics.co.uk

Leisure wise I have been involved in participating and organising events for the All Wheel Drive Club since 1972. During that time I organised many events including three Hill Rallies, two on Salisbury Plain. In recent times business commitments have restricted organisational involvement but I remain a Vice President and regularly support members participating in French Off Road Events where I enjoy capturing the action on my Fuji digital camera.
